Bungo Stray Dogs Anime and Manga To get a Film Adaptation


A film adaptation of Kafka Asagiri and Sango Harukawa's manga "Bungo Stray Dogs" is in the making.

The project was announced on Sunday at Mayo(w)i Inu-tachi no Utage Sono Ni" in Yokohama, along with a screen stage production. More details to be announced to public soon.

Bungo Stray Dogs is a Japanese manga series written by Kafka Asagiri and illustrated by Sango Harukawa. The manga was adapted in an anime television series by Bones aired in 2016 in two parts, the first part aired between 7 April 2016 and 23 June 2016, and the second part aired between 6 October 2016 and 22 December 2016. Funimation and Crunchyroll plan to release the series on home video with an English dub.

The story mainly follows the members of the "Armed Detective Agency" and their everyday, includng taking on unusual cases the police cannot handle.


On February 19th, Bungo Stray Dogs cast Yūto Uemura (Atsushi Nakajima), Mamoru Miyano (Osamu Dazai), Yoshimasa Hosoya (Doppo Kunikida), Hiroshi Kamiya (Ranpo Edogawa), Toshiyuki Toyonaga (Junichirō Tanizaki), Kenshō Ono (Rūnosuke Akutagawa), and Kishō Taniyama (Chūya Nakahara) reunited along with theme song performers Granrodeo with Luck Life and Screen Mode at Yokohama Pacifico for a live-event.
