Samsung's Lee Jae-yong Has been arrested in South Korea For bribery.

A Korean court has ordered the rest of  Samsung's heir and vice chairman Lee Jae-yong (Jay Y. Lee) over charges of bribery and many others.

Samsung Group chief was arrested over his alleged role in a corruption scandal that led parliament to impeach President Park Geun-hye.

The same court rejected a request from prosecutors last month to arrest Mr Lee in January, but reversed its decision after a special prosecutor's office provided additional evidence.

"The rationale for and the necessity of (Lee's) arrest is acknowledged considering the new charges and additional evidence collected," a statement given to press by the court said.

Jay Y Lee allegedly bribed South Korean President Park Geun-hyeand her close friend Choi Soon-sil 41bn won ($36m/£29m) to win government support for a smooth leadership transition within Samsung.

At the parliamentary hearing last December, Lee confirmed he had gifted a horse worth 1 billion won ($875,500) to the daughter of Park's confidante Choi Soon-sil.... He also allegedly that donated $3.1 million to a company Choi co-owned. However, Lee denied seeking favours in return.

Shareholders had argued against the merger between Samsung's de-facto holding company, Cheil Industries, and its construction arm, Samsung C&T, claiming that the deal would give Lee too much control and influence over the new entity.

Lee will be in a detention center for about 20days for questionibg until the proceedings are over. According to Bloomberg, it may take up to 18 months for a trial and verdict.
