Astro Boy Prequel " Atom The Beginning" Gets More New Key Visuals


The official website for the television anime adaptation of Tetsuro Kasahara's manga "Atom the Beginning" has revealed another key visual featuring the main cast member. See below!

The anime series which is schedule to air on Japanese's broadcast ,NHK network, every Saturday during the 23:00 time slot (11 PM JST) on April 15, is a prequel to Osamu Tezuka's classic science fiction manga and TV anime,Astro Boy ( Mighty Atom).

Atom the Beginning TV anime is directed by Katsuyuki Motohiro and Tatsuo Satō, with story assistance by Makoto Tezuka and Masami Yuki, and animation by OLM, Inc., Production I.G, and Signal.MD.




Astro Boy Prequel " Atom The Beginning" Gets More New Key Visuals




The original Atom the Beginning manga is serialized Shogakukan's Monthly Hero'sseinen manga magazine in December 2014 as a prequel of Osamu Tezuka's Astro Boy manga. Tezuka's son Makoto Tezuka handles the editorial supervision of the manga, and the series is in collaboration with Tezuka Productions.

The anime opening theme "Kaidoku Funō" (Indecipherable) is by musical duo After Rain, and Nanjō will also perform the ending theme song "Hikari no Hajimari" (The Beginning of Light).

Atom the Beginning tells the story of Umataro Tenma and Hiroshi Ochanomizu (the creators of Astro Boy) as they work as research students at Nerima University studying robotics engineering. Together they develop a prototype robot called A106 that is designed with autonomous learning functions.

Astro Boy, known in Japan by its original name "Mighty Atom", was written and illustrated by Osamu Tezuka from 1952 to 1968. The manga was adapted for TV as Astro Boy, the first popular animated Japanese television series. Astro Boy was remade in the 1980s as New Mighty Atom, a Hollywood animated film based on the original manga series was released on October 23, 2009. The animated film was was a box office bomb (Box office flop), earning $41 million worldwide on a $65 million budget.
