Kanye West Not Joining American Idol Reboot.

According to Gossip Cop, Kanye West is not going to be a judge the rumour reboot of "American Idol".

The news comes after a source allegedly told RadarOnline that "NBC is courting Kanye West to convince him to join the judging panel on the proposed revival of 'American Idol,' and the network will stop at nothing to get him on board".

However, a rep of the rapper apparently told Gossip Cop that the published story is "bogus".

There were rumours that NBC and Fremantle Media -the show producers - were a early talks for a revival of the show on the network.

Reports suggested that the show was cancelled becaus it was expensive due to its ambitious format of nationwide auditions, live results shows, multiple episodes per week and a celebrity-filled judges panel.

"[Fremantle] came to us and asked if we should resurrect the show and bring it back to television as is," Fox TV Group chairman Gary Newman told IndieWire. "To us, that didn't make sense. We didn't call it the 'last' season as a marketing ploy. That's what we perceived it as. Our credibility with the audience is important. We felt bringing it back quickly, particularly in the same form didn't make sense."

American Idol was created by Simon Fuller, the show began airing on Fox on June 11, 2002, and ended on April 7, 2016. The show was first hosted by Brian Dunkleman (2002), then Ryan Seacrest (2002–2016).
