Bandai Namco New VR Project Will Let You Pilot An Eva From Evangelion.

Bandai Namco Entertainment has revealed plans to develop a Neon Genesis Evangelion virtual-reality experience that will let you pilot an Eva and fght angels.

The new VR entertainment machine inspired by the Neon Genesis Evangelion anime id called Evangelion VR: The Soul’s Seat, and it's scheduled for launch this summer at the VR Zone Shinjuku in Tokyo, Japan.




Bandai Namco's project will allow players to temporary pilot an Eva by putting them inside the Entry Plugs and cockpits of Evangelion units. Players will fight alongside two NERV pilots in Tokyo-3 to defeat Zeruel, the 10th angel. Bandai Namco cockpit machines will be able to move, vibrate, and ventilate to give players a realistic “Eva cockpit experience.”


This is not Bandai Namco Entertainment first VR Project, the company already gave anime and video games fans a Gundam and Doraemon VR experience as part of their "i Can" project which ran from last year April to February this year.






Neon Genesis Evangelion is an anime produced by Gainax and Tatsunoko Production and directed by Hideaki Anno. The anime television series premiered on TV Tokyo from October 1995 to March 1996.

The anime follows a teenage boy by the name of Shinji after he's recruited by his father to pilot a giant bio-machine mecha called Evangelion to fight monstrous beings known as Angels.

Evangelion VR: The Soul’s Seat Zone Shinjuku center will open on June 13.
