Aladdin Director Wants Tom Hardy To Play Jafar In The Live-action Adaptation.

Reports swirling around that director, Guy Ritchie, is eyeing British actor Tom Hardy, for the role of Jafar in the Aladdin live-action remake.

Guy Ritchie, also a fan of Hardy's work, allegedly approached the actor to take on the part of the villain in the Upcoming Aladdin live-action remake

“Guy is a huge fan of Tom’s work and securing him would be a major coup. There have been conversations and, although nothing is set in stone and things are subject to change, he’s certainly one of Guy’s favoured choices. It just depends on schedules whether he’ll be able to sign up," a source told The Sun UK.





Also rumoured to star in the Disney live-action movie is Will Smith. Smith will reportedly take on the role of Genie - voiced by Robin Williams in the 1992. Little Mix star Jade Thirlwall has reportedly been in talks to play Princess Jasmine ( voiced by Linda Larkin in the animated ) in the movie.




Dan Lin will produce the Aladdin live-action reboot and says it will an ambitious "non-traditional" take on Aladdin. Jonathan Eirich will executive produce the movie. There's no word on who will play Aladdin yet.

The original animated film was released in 1992, and was directed by John Musker and Ron Clements. Aladdin earned around $217 million in the United States, and over $504 million worldwide.
