Basilisk Getting A Manga Sequel 12years After The Original Anime Series.

Basilisk is getting a Manga based 10 years after original story.


A sequel manga adaptation based on Masaki Segawa's Basilisk original manga will launch in the 34th issue of Kodansha's Young Magazine on July 24.






Basilisk - Ōka Ninpō-chō (Basilisk - The Ōka Ninja Scrolls), which is set 10 years after the original story will written and illustrated by Tatsuya Shihara. The sequel will center around Hachirō and Hibiki, two elite ninja from the Kōga and Iga clans.

Masaki Segawa launched Basilisk in 2003 in Kodansha's Young Magazine Uppers magazine. Segawa's manga is based on the novel The Kouga Ninja Scrolls by Futaro Yamada published in 1958. The manga inspired a television anime adaptation in 2005 produced by Gonzo Studios. The novel also inspired a live-action film in 2005 titled SHINOBI - Heart Under Blade.
