Cowboy Bebop To Get A Live-action TV Series Adaptation.

Variety is reporting that Cowboy Bebop/Kaubōi Bibappu anime series will be getting a live-action television show with comic book veteran Chris Yost ( Thor) will writing the adaptation.


The live-action television series adaptation is a partnership between Tomorrow Studios, ITV Studios and Marty Adelstein. The show will be executive produced by Sunset Inc. and Midnight Radio.




The 26 episodes original anime series by Sunrise debuted in Japan in 1998. Cowboy Bebop/Kaubōi Bibappu was directed by Shinichirō Watanabe with scripts by Keiko Nobumoto, and character design by Toshihiro Kawamoto.

The series premiered in Japan on TV Tokyo on April, 1998. The anime was adapted into two manga series which were serialized in Kadokawa Shoten's Asuka Fantasy DX. A film was later released to theaters worldwide. In 2001 the anime show became the first anime title to be broadcast on Adult Swim in the United States.

The series Cowboy Bebop/Kaubōi Bibappu is set in the year 2071, and follow the lives of a bounty hunter named Spike Spiegel, an ex-cop called Jet Black, Faye Valentine, a young girl named Ed, and Ein - a Pembroke Welsh Corgi whose intelligence was greatly enhanced by a research facility - traveling on the Bebop (their spaceship).
