CW Seed Has Released Freedom Fighters: The Ray First Trailer.

CW Seed has shared the first promo video for their upcoming animated series Freedom Fighters: The Ray, executive​ produced by Greg Berlanti and Marc Guggenheim.




Freedom Fighters: The Ray is set on Earth X, where the Nazis rule the United States. The animated series will be part of the Arrowverse, and will feature appearance from Green Arrow, the Flash, and Supergirl as a group of supervillain trying to stop "The Ray". Freedom Fighters, members includes Phantom Lady, Red Tornado, Black Condor, and an unidentified member. The animated show will introduce the first gay superhero member the in CW's superheroes roster.









“Raymond “Ray” Terrill was a reporter who discovered a group of government scientists working on a secret project to turn light into a weapon of mass destruction. But before he could report on his findings, the project head exposed Ray to a “genetic light bomb.” The bomb failed to kill him and instead gifted Ray with light-based powers. With these abilities, Ray realized he could go beyond reporting on injustice — he could take action to help stop it. Calling himself The Ray, he was recruited by Uncle Sam and the Freedom Fighters to fight violence and oppression wherever it exists.”




The Ray is the name of four fictional characters, all superheroes in the DC Comics universe. They first appeared in Justice League of America #107 in 1973)l. However, the show will be based on writer Grant Morrison’s version of the character from DC’s Multiversity event. The animated series will premiere on CW Seed in the Fall.
