Persona game franchise official website account revealed on Sunday the key visual and teaser trailer for A-1 Pictures' anime television series adaptation of their latest game in the franchise, Persona 5.

The visual with "The world will be stolen by them" as headline revealed that the television anime series produced by A-1 Pictures will premiere in 2018. The Persona 5 game first launched in Japan in September 15, 2016 for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3, before being released in North America and Europe on July 4, 2017. The RPG recently surpassed 1.8 million copies in worldwide shipments.





Persona 5 takes place in Tokyo, and follows the player-named protagonist after his transfer to the fictional Shujin Academy after being put on probation for an assault of which he was falsely accused. In the beginning of the game, he has little to no power or influence in the world, and is restrained by the rules of the system he was born into.

However, beneath his quiet demeanor is a strong-willed juvenile delinquent known throughout the world as The Phantom, to the residents of the Velvet Room he is known as the Trickster, and to his teammates his code name is Joker. The protagonist is the leader of the rebellious Phantom Thieves of Hearts which aims to change society by touching the hearts of people and performing illegal heists.

Back in September 2016, A-1 Pictures released an Episode 0 of Persona 5 the Animation: The Day Breakers
