Chiwetel Ejiofor In Early Talk To Voice Scar In Disney's Remake Of ‘THE LION KING’.

According to reports, Oscar-nominated actor Chiwetel Ejiofor is in early to voice Scar in the live-action remake of Disney’s 1994 animated film , Lion King. Scar was previously voiced by Jeremy Irons (Justice League).



The Lion King ramake is being directed by Jon Favreau ( The Jungle Book). The film will star Donald Glover as Simba, and James Earl Jones will reprise is role as. Mufasa in the upcoming film. Also lending the voices for other characters in the upcoming film are Seth Rogen, John Oliver and Billy Eichner.



Disney's Lion King will be released in theaters July 19, 2019. The film is currently shooting in Los Angeles.

Scar was created in 1989 by screenwriters Irene Mecchi, Jonathan Roberts<135b> and Linda Woolverton, and animated by Andreas Deja. The fictional character was inspired by King Claudius, the villain of William Shakespeare's play Hamlet, Scar's villainy was additionally inspired by German politician Adolf Hitler. Deja based Scar's look on that of Jeremy Irons himself.
