Netflix Reveals Devilman Crybaby Anime's Full-length Trailer.


Netflix Japan unveiled on Wednesday the full-length trailer for their new anime series adaptation based on Go Nagai's Devilman manga. The anime show titled DEVILMAN crybaby is slated for Spring of 2018, and will have 10 episodes.






The original Devilman manga was launched in Kodansha's Weekly Sh┼Źnen Magazine in 1972. A 39-episodes anime television series adaptation by Toei Animation and aired the same year. The manga has since spawned numerous OVAs, manga, novels, and a live-action films in 2004.

Devilman crybaby is being directed by Masaaki Yuasa (Ping Pong the Animation, Mind Game) at Science SARU studio. Ichiro Okouchi (Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, Valvrave the Liberator) is writing the script.

The protagonist Akira Fudo (Kouki Uchiyama) learns from his best friend, Ryo Asuka (Ayumu Murase), that an ancient race of demons has returned to take back the world from humans. Ryo tells Akira that the only way to defeat the demons is to incorporate their supernatural powers, and suggests that he unite with a demon himself. Akira succeeds in transforming into Devilman, who possesses both the powers of a demon and the soul of a human. The battle of Devilman and Akira Fudo begins.
