Hellboy Movie Reboot No More Called Blood Queen.

Neil Marshall's Hellboy live-action movie reboot starring David Harbour and Ian McShane will no longer be called "Rise of the Blood Queen", but instead the film will simply be called "Hellboy".

It's not sure if the Queen of Blood who first appeared in Hellboy: The Wild Hunt #2 will still play an important role in the reboot directed by Neil Marshall (The Descent).

The Queen of Blood, previously known as Nimue and the Lady of the Lake was beloved by Merlin and the greatest of all British witches. Nimue lived during the reign of King Arthur, and imprison Merlin in a grave for eternity before going mad. Her madness was so great that all the other witches cut her into many pieces and shut them into a wooden box and buried it deep within the earth. Nimue will be revived centuries later, during the events of Darkness Calls, before being dispatched again, this time by Hellboy.

The live-action film adaptation of Mike Mignola‘s comic book series will be scripted by the author himself, with Andrew Cosby, and Christopher Golden. The Hellboy reboot is set to start filming this September and will star Stranger Things' David Harbour as Hellboy and American Gods' Ian McShane as his adoptive father. Harbour recently revealed that the reboot will have “a darker, more gruesome version of Hellboy.”

Hellboy will be released in theaters in 2018.
