Marwan Kenzari In Talks To Play Jafar In Disney's Live-Action 'Aladdin' Movie.

According to reports, actor Marwan Kenzari (the upcoming Murder on the Orient Express) is allegedly in talks to play the role of the villain Jar the upcoming live-action remake of Aladdin.

Aladdin will star Mena Massoud as Aladdin , Naomi Scott as princess Jasmine, and Will Smith as Genie. The Disney musical live-action adaptation of Aladdin will be directed by Guy Ritchie, with production set to start in August in London. John August (Big Fish, Corpse Bride)is writing the film script.




The original animated film was released in 1992, and was directed by John Musker and Ron Clements. Aladdin earned around $217 million in the United States, and over $504 million worldwide. There's still no details on who will portray Jafar's sidekick, Iago. However, THR is reporting that former Saturday Night Live comedienne Nasim Pedrad has landed a role created specifically for the new movie.
