Game of Thrones' 5th Prequel Spinoff Series Confirmed.

Variety is reporting that Game of Thrones writer and co-executive producer Bryan Cogman, has been as the writer for the fifth prequel of the television series.

Cogman, who has been on the show since the first season, will joined previously announced writers, Max Borenstein (“Kong: Skull Island”), Jane Goldman (“Kingsman: The Golden Circle”), Brian Helgeland (“Legend”), and Carly Wray (“Mad Men,” “The Leftovers”).

Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin will collaborate with Goldman and Wray. However, will not write any of the spinoffs. The TV show executive producers and showrunners Dan Weiss and David Benioff are also attached to the four projects..

Game of Thrones eighth and final season, which is being written by Weiss and Benioff will be between six and eight episodes. The final season will between 2018 or 2019.

Game of Thrones was created by David Benioff and D. B. Weiss. The TV series is an adaptation of A Song of Ice and Fire, George R. R. Martin's series of fantasy novels, the first of which is A Game of Thrones.
