One Piece Manga Reaches 430 Million Copies in Print Worldwide.

One Piece manga series has more than 430 million copies in print worldwide. The news was revealed by Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine editor-in-chief, Hiroyuki Nakano, at a press event for Shueisha's new 2017 publications. Eiichiro Oda manga series has 360 million copies in print in Japan and 70 million copies in print outside of Japan, making a total of 430 million copy.



The manga set a world record in June 2015 for "The most copies published for the same comic book series by a single author after it reached 320,866,000 copies printed worldwide in December 2014.

Eiichiro Oda launched One Piece manga in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine in July 19, 1997, with the chapters collected into 85 tankōbon volumes to date. Toei Animation premiere the anime show adaptation of the manga in 1999, in Japan.

A live-action Hollywood television show adaptation of One Piece manga series is being developed in a partnership production between Tomorrow Studios, Marty Adelstein (Prison Break, Teen Wolf) and ITV Studios.
