Fox's 24 TV Series Sequel Eyeing Female Lead.

Deadline is reporting that Howard Gordon, Brian Grazer, and Jeremy Doner are developing a  24 television series sequel at Fox. The produced by 20th Century Fox TV and Imagine TV would have a female lead.

The new 24 TV show will focused on "real-time format of the terrorism-themed original and apply it to a different arena, criminal justice."

The new 24 will allegedly center around a female prosecutor who uncovers a legal conspiracy and has to work against the clock to save a death row inmate facing imminent execution whom she had helped prosecute but may be innocent.

Howard Gordon (Original 24 series) and Jeremy Doner will writer the show which says to be an anthological that will feature new story with new characters each season.

The eight and final season of the original 24 series aired on November 6, 2001. The inspired a number of spinoffs, 24: Live Another Day in 2014. 24: Legacy in 2017, and a television film adaptation, 24: Redemption premiere on November 23, 2008.
