The Lion King : Beyoncé Cast As Simba's Love Interest.
After months of speculations Disney has finally unveiled Beyoncé Knowles-Carter as the voice cast for Nala in the remake of The Lion King. Beyoncé will star alongside Donald Glover who will Simba in the animated film.

The Simba's love interest was voiced by Niketa Calame ( Young Nala) and Moira Kelly (adult Nala) in the original The Lion King animated film.





The Lion King remake will be directed by Jon Favreau. The animated movie is slated for July 19, 2019, and will star Donald Glover (Atlanta) as Simba, John Kani as Rafiki, Billy Eichner as Timon, Seth Rogen as Pumbaa, Chiwetal Ejiofor as Scar, Alfre Woodard as Simba's mother Sarabi, and John Oliver as Zazu. James Earl Jones (Star Wars) will be returning once again to lend his voice to Mufasa.

The film is currently in preproduction in Los Angeles. Oliver and Disney haven't made an official announcement yet.

The original Lion King animated film was released in 1994. The animated film was directed by Roger Allers and Rob Minkoff, produced by Don Hahn, with a screenplay by Irene Mecchi, Jonathan Roberts, and Linda Woolverton. The film original songs were written by Elton John and lyricist Tim Rice, and original scores were written by Hans Zimmer. The Lion King earned $968.5 million on the Box office with a budget of $45 million.
