James Bond Actor Sir Roger Moore Dead At 89.

Former James Bond actor Sir Roger Moore, has died aged 89, his family has we we we confirmed.

Sir Roger Moore played James Bond in seven 007 films; Live and Let Die (1973), The Man with the Golden Gun (1974), The Spy Who Loved Me (1977), Moonraker (1979), For Your Eyes Only (1981), Octopussy (1983) and A View to a Kill (1985).

The actor family confirmed the news of his passing Twitter, saying he died in Switzerland after "a short but brave battle with cancer".

"Thank you Pops for being you, and being so very special to so many people."
"With the heaviest of hearts, we must share the awful news that our father, Sir Roger Moore, passed away today. We are all devastated," they said in a Twitter post.

Sir Roger was the oldest actor ever hired to play James Bond taking on the role when he was 45... He's also the longest actor to portray 007 in the role from 1973 to 1985.

The actor survived by his wife Kristina Tholstrup, his two sons, Geoffrey and Christian, and daughter, Deborah. The family will hold a private funeral in Monaco, per his wishes, the statement said.
