Persona 5 Anime New Key Visual features Ryuji Sakamoto.

Atlus and A-1 Pictures have unveiled a 2nd key visual for the anime television series adaptation of Persona 5 game featuring Ryuji Sakamoto, a student at Shujin Academy who lives a double life as a Phantom Thief.

The Persona 5 game first launched in Japan in September 15, 2016 for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3, before being released in North America and Europe on July 4, 2017. The RPG recently surpassed 1.8 million copies in worldwide shipments. The anime show will premiere in April 2018.

Back in September 2016, A-1 Pictures released an Episode 0 of Persona 5 the Animation: The Day Breakers prior to the game release. Jun Fukuyama<0b> who voiced protagonist in the game will also voice the character in the anime show.

Persona 5 takes place in Tokyo, and follows the player-named protagonist after his transfer to the fictional Shujin Academy after being put on probation for an assault of which he was falsely accused. In the beginning of the game, he has little to no power or influence in the world, and is restrained by the rules of the system he was born into.

However, beneath his quiet demeanor is a strong-willed juvenile delinquent known throughout the world as The Phantom, to the residents of the Velvet Room he is known as the Trickster, and to his teammates his code name is Joker. The protagonist is the leader of the rebellious Phantom Thieves of Hearts which aims to change society by touching the hearts of people and performing illegal heists.
