VENOM: First Look At Tom Hardy As Eddie Brock

Sony unveiled on Wednesday a first look at Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock for Marvel's upcoming live-action film adaptation of Venom courtesy of IGN.

Tom Hardy is set star as Eddie Brock a journalist caught by symbiotic alien costume after Spider-Man discarded the symbiotic after a battle with alien costume in Our Lady of Saints Church's bell tower. Hardy will be using motion-capture to portray Venom in the live-action film adaptation.

The film will be based on Venom: Lethal Protector comic book arc, the six-issue comic book limited series published by Marvel Comics from February 1993 to July 1993. It was the first series in which Eddie Brock was the main character, and recast Venom as an anti-hero.






"Zombieland" director Ruben Fleischer to helm the film. Venom solo movie is expected to be released October 5th, 2018. Production on the movie is currently on the way.

Venom, or the Venom Symbiote, made his first appearance in 1988's The Amazing Spider-Man #300. The comic book character was created by writer David Michelinie and artists Todd McFarlane and Mike Zeck. Venom made his first Live-action made appearance Spider-Man 3 and was portrayed by actor, Topher Grace.

Venom was originally conceived as a super-villain, but like Deadpool, the character has since become more of an antihero. The studio is in final negotiations with "Zombieland" director Ruben Fleischer to helm the film. Production for "Venom" begins this fall.





In the series Venom makes an agreement with Spider-Man that they will leave each other alone, on the condition that Venom commits no crimes. Venom then moves from New York City to San Francisco, and takes up with a group of Californian mole people. Shortly thereafter the father of one of Venom's victims seeks him out with a group of super-powered mercenaries to take revenge.

Spider-Man, seeing misleading coverage of Venom on television, heads to San Francisco to confront him and instead winds up fighting alongside Venom against five new offspring of the Venom Symbiote: Scream, Phage, Riot, Lasher, and Agony.
